I came to USA in July 1997. I did my masters here. I worked for 3 fortune 500 companies so far. I have been with one company since last 11 years. I am on EB3(mar 2003). I am a senior manager in fortune 50 company and on the path towards directorship. I wish I had green card, that didn't prevent me from having a good life and career. I brought an house 10 years ago. All I can see few more years of wait. Reg' Pappu post about action, the only action I can take is converting my case to EB2, which I tried several times within the company and it didn't work. The second action I can take is change employer. I have a good career, pay in this job, not sure if I would be able to get same one outside.

The notion "If you enter back on H1B, your GC process is abandoned" is utterly wrong. AP is an interim benefit which you may or may not use. Actually there are few people who never applied for EAD/AP due to various reasons....
Your 485 is just not impacted no matter you use your EAD/AP or h1B while reentering!

Between June 1 and the first few days of July (?), the USCIS requested and was authorized over 60,000 EB visa numbers, in approximately one month. Since it has been made clear by the USCIS that during the last weekend of June 30 and July 1 (2 days) the USCIS approved 25,000 EB 485 applications, apparently over 40,000 visa numbers were requested and authorized before the weekend in a period of less than one month. Obviously the 60,000 plus cases must thus have been approved (?) in one month. Unconformed sources indicate that they processed and approved (?) a substantial number of applications on Sunday, July 1, exhausting the EB numbers by July 1 and making the EB number unavailable not from July 1 but from July 2, 2007. It is interesting that even before the legal team initiates any discovery, the truth starts coming out of the cabinet a bit by bit.

IV core leadership has to change and so is the stratergy. Current Lobbying efforts have clearly not worked out. I call for elections to elect the new core team. All these conference calls and inaction is just wastage of time and things are getting worse. We need an aggressive stratergy and may need to take names and hit people openly to get our agenda pushed. IV leadership clearly lacks these skills.
