I have been reading a lot of late about troubles/Denials given to H1B visa holders at POE.
I have been in US for few years now on H1 working as Marketing Manager and traveled smoothly so far. Planning for a short vacation to Europe. Should I?

I was in a similar situation and my lawyer advised to apply for H1 (come April) even without the H4 extension. A query will be sent asking to prove your status until atleast Sep 30th. You can then attach your H4 papers (assuming your H4 extn is approved by then).
Anyway, i am planning to apply for extension using premium processing just to make sure things progress smoothly.

We got an approval and CPO email on my husbands (primaries) application. Nothing on mine yet but I would not be surprised if both come together. PD Dec 2005 RD July 2 2007

On Thursday, July 12, 2007, at 9 PM EDT, certain USCIS web-based systems will be taken out of service for maintenance upgrades. They should be restored in approximately three to four hours. These systems include:
Case Status Online (and processing times)
Field Office Locator and Information
Civil Surgeon Locator; and
Change of Address Online

On November 27, the USCIS announced that they had received 58,900 H-1B petitions toward the 65,000 cap. So there are 6,100 numbers remaining, correct? (Update: By December 4, the USCIS had received 61,100 H-1B petitions toward the 65,000 cap.) Not exactly. We have Free Trade Agreements with both Singapore and Chile which set aside 6,800 "H-1B1" numbers for nationals of those countries. Do the math: 65,000 minus 6,800 equals 58,200. Yesterday Congressman Joe Wilson talked to reporters about his claim that the President was lying about immigrants having access to health care subsidies under the President's health care plan. Hi,
I had applied for 485 without EAD/AP since we wanted to file it on July 2nd. Still waiting for the receipt. Recently our lawyer sent the EAD/AP application based on the new rule, with just the FEDEX receipt confirmation of the 485 application. However, he sent the application to CA Service Center stating that based on the new direct filing rule, it can be sent to the local Service Center.
Is that right? Anyone with similar experience or insights. As far as I know it has to be sent to the same service center where we applied for 485 (NSC).
Any document or FAQ from USCIS that can clarify this issue?
