Hi,
My wife had a EAD and it is expiring in October 08 and my wife's H4 is expiring in August 08. I got a mail from my employer to renew my H1 and my wife's H4 status as both are expiring in August.
I am planning to extend my wife's EAD Next week as she had plans to work.
My question is, is it advisable to extend my wife H4 also? Is there any problem because both applications (H4 and EAD) will processed by uscis at the same almost time.
Please advice.

Folks,
I just realized that I forgot to add a piece of my employment history to the DS-160. I only realized it once I set up the appointment for H1-B stamping through VFS. I have all the corroborating paperwork (W2, paystub etc.) for that period. Do I need to re-do the DS-160? I already have an appointment and if I cancel the appointment and re-do the DS160 I might run the risk of not getting the date of my choosing. The problem is my existing company is a "successor in interest" of the company I forgot to mention. That is, I got my I-797 from this previous company.
Please not that the facts in the existing DS 160 are true. It is just that I realized that there is a gap that I might have to fill.

For what could become the third year in a row, the Senate on Tuesday evening did not pass an Intelligence Authorization Bill, over the objection of a lone Republican senator whose name is being protected by his colleagues.
John D. Rockefeller IV (D-W.Va.), chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, called the delay "one of the more embarrassing efforts I have been associated with in my 24 years in this body." The panel's vice chairman, Sen. Christopher S. Bond (R-Mo.), took the Senate floor Tuesday and called on "any person who has a hold on this bill to come forward and find out what is in the bill."
Rockefeller and Bond have been working over several months to meet objections to items in the bill that the committee passed last May. With changes that Rockefeller and Bond worked out, the measure was reintroduced Jan. 27 and put on the unanimous consent calendar on Feb. 8.
Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, was named by Congressional Quarterly yesterday as the member who put the bill on hold. A DeMint spokesman said the senator's office "does not comment on holds," but other congressional sources said that DeMint was the one.
Those sources said that they believe the hold is due to White House objections to specific provisions, including public disclosure of the national intelligence budget; a requirement for a report on secret CIA prisons; and response to information requests by the committee chairman and vice chairman within 30 days.
"We have to be able to pass authorization bills if we are to have an impact on the intelligence community," Bond said.

We have applied for our 485 under EB2 I with a PD of Jun 2005 (I am primary and my wife is the dependent). We have maintained our H1B status though have used AP for travel.
Its time to renew my wifes H1B within the next few weeks. With all the talk of spillover and a remote chance that may be our 485 gets approved during the last quarter, i wanted to know if there would be any problem if our GC got approved while the H1B remained pending or worse the H1B got approved too around the same time the GC got approved. [i am hearing that it is taking a few months for H1 approval]
Is there an process that we need to follow - withdraw the H1B once we know that the GC got approved etc.
Also is there any problem with H1B renewal if AP has been used?
Any help wrt both these topics is appreciated.

Marco Rubio has a challenge. He needs to appeal to conservatives in order to drum up enough votes to defeat popular Governor Charlie Crist in next year's Florida GOP primary. Then he has to run back to the middle to appeal to an increasingly liberal Florida general electorate. When it comes to immigration, he needs to come off as tough on illegally present workers. And then he somehow has to seem reasonable on the issue by the time he gets to the November election. The Miami Herald reports on how this is going to be a tough task.

I got Duplicate I485, I765, I131 receipts. All the receipts has same A#. One set of I765 & I131 approved. For the second set , they send REF about Photos as I have not submitted any supporting documents ( Photos, I94 etc) for second set. I have submitted the second set as follow up since I didnt get receipts for the first set within 5 months.
Now I want to withdraw duplicate I485 set. Any problems ?

Hi,
My L1B visa & petition with Company A runs upto Sep this year.
I'm applying for H1B petition with company B this year.
my current Company A will try to go for L1B petition extension, so that I can continue being here beyond september.
My concern is if these 2 will clash with each other ?
One of my friends said that whichever petition gets approved latest - will be the one that holds good.
So if L1B extension gets approved after h1B, will that negate H1B ?
and vice-versa ..

My wife who is on currently in the US on H4 has recently received her H1B approval. Her H1B is valid from 01-Oct-2007 to 23-Sept-2010.
When we applied for the AOS in July 2007, we mentioned that my wife's current status was H4 (which I am thinking is still true as her H1B starts only on October 2007). My question is will this create an issue when USCIS is adjudicating our AOS applications.
Any information on this issue would be appreciated.

TSC 485 processing date says Aug 17,2007.
Does it mean, they reviewed almost all cases before Aug 16,2007?
My receipt date is Aug 13,2007. Notice date is Oct 10,2007.
So wondering whether they touched my case or still not?
Means, they reviewd all cases wherever the VISA dates were allocated/available. As you are from India, you have thousands of cases ahead of you.
