What happens to people on EAD and AP...what would happen to thier status...This law does not make sense..I think it may be for people who have not filed for I-485..
Why take all the approved application and create another backlog..although Congress passes law ..its upto USCIS to intrepret it so that it makes sense to them and then apply it...
It will create unneccesary Choas if people again have to start from scratch after waiting for 5-8 years...and with the back loga they have right now..you can safely assume that this it not affact majority of us

I live inTexas and fall under Sen. Cornyn constituency. I faxed his Dallas and Washington Office this thank you letter. Everyone of us can send letter to their Senators. After all we are legal tax payers.... what u all say ???

Also please call to the senators office and let them know your opinion. Please refer about the bill and convey your opinion according to the particular senator's voting on the amendment. This is very important coz this will greatly influence them and stimulate them for further similar amendments. Please dont delay. Let us heat up the issue. I have not received the physical receipt notice yet. But the online case status says "On July 11, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION" even though it was physically delivered and signed at Nebraska Service center on June, 15th. I will post once I get the physical copy of receipt notice to update every one.
May be some others that have already received the physical copy of receipt notices can clarify the difference between the receipt date on the notice vs. the online status that says ""On July 11, 2007, we received..."
UPDATE: shreekhand's post above from moments ago seems to have answered this question.

I thought if we dont get the EAD after 90 days, we can walk into the US Embassy in the city nearer to us and get the EAD on the spot(more like a driver's license).:eek:

If you are stuck at Atlanta PERM backlog center , please email your case number and explain them that your application has been pending for a LONG time and request them to help us get out of this grave situation. Also, please post on this thread after you have sent an email so that others can be motivated to do the same. We need to send as many emails as possible to get any positive feedback. I know that DOL mentioned that they will start processing our applications soon, but we need to keep up the pressure from our end so that it has some positive effect.
I know most of the people on this forum are not in this situation ..... but let's see how many can come out of this selfishness and help others by emailing / phoning DOL Atlanta to help other brothers who want to file AOS just like them...... When phone campaigns / email campaigns happen .... we who are stuck at Atlanta help others tooo... so let's see how many on this form help us now...

I just did it yesterday...it Sucks....when dates are current labor is freaking stuck.....when labor will be clewared......dates may retrogress....SUCKS....
I hope the dates are current for some 2-3 months.
I know most of the people on this forum are not in this situation ..... but let's see how many can come out of this selfishness and help others by emailing / phoning DOL Atlanta to help other brothers who want to file AOS just like them...... I am happy for following things in life:
1) I still have a job, or atleast pay.
2) I have an EAD, those in PERM, 140, do not have that option.
3) I am better placed than those seeking immigration as brothers and sisters of US citizens :-d or as married children of US citizens.
I am not happy about:
1) Don't have the plastic that says, I can stay on even if I don't have a job.
2) Those from other countries getting "lottery" visa instead of hard work.
Who said "hard work" pays off? It just takes LUCK in life for things to fall in place. From tomorrow, I am just going to buy lottery and do NO work.
