people,
i just returned from an infopass meeting... the guy i talked to said that they recently have a directive from the DHS/USCIS that they want to separate the legal stuff from the illegal stuff and hence they are planning to adjudicate a record number of EB apps in the next quarter or two... does anyone else concur? is this true or were my ears just ringing in that meeting?

and why, pray, does your esteemed school keep accepting students from these so called "sub-standard" colleges in india? i would say 5-7 years of observed emperical evidence calls for some substantial action on your and your school's part in black-listing these institutions........so, either:
1. you are blowing smoke through eveyone's a** here or
2. the school is greedy for tuition fees - proving an earlier contention made in this thread about it being all about money....
P.S - i am not from one of these schools so no personal stake!

No, it does not even do that. it does not let FOIA donors logon too.
First, the whole concept of donor based organisation is so stupid.
I mean really stupid.
If the donor based thing is ON, the future of IV is not good.
Yeah, IV does good work by talking to people all around, from different stratas of lawmaking and what not.
but get real, look around guys, information is everywhere, not only here. and you are working for the greater good of the community, only donors are not going to be benefitting from this.
Instead of making donor based posts, have a FOIA kinda drive every now and then.

i also have been ff this blog but have not been sharing much bcoz i dont see a lot of sched a bloggers in here.anyway.please read the hammond law group about an amendment that apparently passed the senate to allocate the unused visa from 2001 till 2004 in which 50% will go to sched a workers.one of the bloggers mentioned so.cant verify the authenticity of such but it certainly lifts my dampen spirit.it is the bill that was introduced by senators hutchison and schumer.i am happy to see the support of the IV members towards the mission of this organization.it has been a great source of info for me.MY PD is oct 2006 and have been separated from my wife for over ayear now and our lil girl is growing up without the presence of her mother.it is very heartbreaking,not to mention my life without her.hope all our sufferings will end soon.

I checked the online status of our 485 application after long time..i totally lost hope on our 485 applications that USCIS ever bothered to work on them..but strange thing is i have noticed a soft LUD on my wifes case..this gives me some hope..:D

I welcome your stickiness. This idea is not new to the forum. Go and search the threads. We have an active agenda of sending the faxes, writing LTEs, follwoing up senators and their offices after discussions, writing to news anchors, talking heads etc.

We need more ideas and more action as we go along.

I have talked to a representative and he very patiently explained me about the mess.
He clearly and very clearly told me that they have a deadline to send all receipts for June end and July 2nd filers by friday (tomorrow) or worst case monday.
He mentioned that they are working hard to meet this deadline.
Hope this clears the anxiety.

I fully support this donor forum. there should be some incentive for members who donate. they are not doing it because they have lots of money to spare, but they sacrifice because they believe in this cause. I don't think $25 is going to break anyone's bank. Just sacrifice something that you consume/enjoy every week, and donate that.
It's a pity that even with about 25K members, we cannot raise a minimal amount. People need to realize they cannot simply enjoy the benefits of someone else's labor.

An unconfirmed sources of information has just released a report that the Sen. Bill Frist, Majority Leader is pushing a two-week full Senate floor debate beginning from March 20, 2006 rather than March 27, 2006. This report is indirectly supported by another news that the Senate Judiciary Committee is pressed to extend their additional mark-up on Friday, March 17 to finish up the Committee action before the end of the week.

Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to pickup the Sen. Specter's Mark of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bills today. Initially it was scheduled for two days, March 15 and March 16, but the AILA has just obtained the information that the Committee has tentatively extended the mark-up on March 17, Friday as well in order to finish up this business within this week. As we reported earlier, the Committee has been working on a tight schedule because of the pressure from Senator Frist, the Majority Leader of the Senate to start debate on the Comprehensive Immigration Reform in the Senate beginning from March 27, 2006.

Didn't get to file GC till 2007 unfortunately...
Oh Man! You should be in your 40s now....And you are still waiting for GC. You must be knowing this. You will have to wait for 15+ years more for your DMAN GC!! By that you may have been retired.

good to know i am not alone on this! i filed AP thru NSC on Aug 15, and got a receipt notice for it on Oct 12. The case tracker also has just one entry on Oct 12 (i.e. "we received your app on Oct 12....") -- its been dead since then. no LUDs, no RFEs, nothing.
i dunno if this is a correct interpretation... but i just saw the dec processing times (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16334 thanks to aadimanav (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/member.php?u=9573)) and it says NSC is taking 3 months for APs. maybe the 3 months start from Oct 12 and not from Aug 15. In that case my AP should be processed by Jan 12.
If this theory is right, anyone who got a AP Receipt Notice before Sept 27, should have an approved AP in hand by now. I hope this is the case becoz then its just 3 more weeks. A lot of ppl would be on the same boat then

Do not generalise all consulting companies...At least people working in these consulting companies sponsored GC and buying house and spending their money here. Most of the fradulent GC process was done by these croocked indian companies. They exploited the EB1C system to the maximum extend. Most of the times, they are not filing the GC and keep the employees as slaves or they exploit the EB1c fo their boot lickers.
Does anyone know such a bootlicker getting EB1c based GC? I wonder what a smart aleck that guy must been. There was a piece on NYT about India's penchant with lines and cutting lines by the uppity mongers..:D
